Be the first in SA to watch the much anticipated sequel, Hunger Games: Catching Fire in a special midnight screening at Ster Kinekor IMAX in Gateway on Thursday, 21 November.  Durban movie-goers will also be treated to an extra special cinematic treat with a double feature of Hunger Games at 20:30 and its sequel at midnight. These sneak screenings at one minute past midnight will feature at select cinemas across the country with Durban having exclusive rights of the IMAX spectacle.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has been specially formatted for IMAX and will fill the entire screen with crystal clear clarity. The key action sequences of the arena scene have been specially captured with IMAX’s extremely high-resolution cameras to deliver greater scope and image quality that will make anyone not watching in Durban extra jelly.

The movie picks up right where the other ended seeing our unwilling hero, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) return home after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute and staged romantic interest, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Their newfound fame bring them notoriety and riches … as well as a string of obligations. One of these requiring them to set out on a Victors’ Tour of the districts. Having publicly rebelled against the Capitol’s strict competition rules, Katniss becomes the face of a growing rebellion that she might not be ready to be a part of. The Capitol is out to prove its authority and power in this movie with Katniss proving to be the target of their wrath. If you thought the last Hunger Games was hardcore, you ain’t seen nothing yet.  The film pulls together several genres catering for everyone’s taste. So if you’re looking for action, adventure, romance or politics with an overtone of dystopia, give Hunger Games: Catching Fire a shot. And if you need a little refresher of what happened in the last one, don’t miss out on the double feature.

The film carries a 10-12 PGV and runs for 2 hours, 26 minutes. Movie-goers need to be seated at 23:45 on Wednesday, 20 November. For more info, visit www.sterkinekor.com or call Ticketline on 082 16789.
