So we’ve announced our first 5 winners, who will be receiving double tickets to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 premiere on 24 April at Ster Kinekor, Gateway BUT there’s more. To make your Easter weekend even more exciting, we’ll be giving away an extra 15, yes FIFTEEN sets of double tickets to the first 15 people who tell us what superhero costume/gear they will wear to the premiere (please comment below).
Fans of the franchise have been waiting with baited breath to see Andrew Garfield *insert swoon* reprise his role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, accompanied by the oh-so-likeable Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy). It’s hard not to like Spider-Man, the ultimate geek-turned-hero, who never quite wins as Peter Parker and is seen more as a vigilante than as a hero when he’s Spider-Man. Nevertheless, this doesn’t stop him from doing what he does best – thwarting over-the-top super villains.
Sooo … who’s the villain this time around? Jamie Foxx. Yes, Jamie Foxx. Hmmm… Not so sure whether Foxx can pull off a convincing villain? Well, producers obviously disagreed because he not only plays the villain, but the title role at that (this sequel is called “Rise of Electro”). But it seems filmmakers got a bit greedy with this film and decided one villain wasn’t enough. They thought they’d add a few more characters like The Rhino (the non-endangered kind) played by a formidable Paul Giamatti and a dash of the Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan). The focus of this movie seems to be relationships as they draw heavily on the Peter/Stacy romance as well as the conflicting and often blurry dynamic between Peter and his best friend, Harry Osborn (heir to Oscorp). The plot is set to build on these relationships whilst also shedding more light on his parents’ past and mysterious death with all sorts of smoke signals coming from the heart of the mystery – Oscorp.
It looks like an action-packed few hours with plenty to look out for. Peter Parker also seems to learn that not only does great power come with great responsibility but also great time management skills cos anyone who can multitask that many villains in one movie needs to show me how to schedule my diary.
Please note: winners will need to wear superhero gear at the premiere π The competition will close as soon as we receive our first 15 entries

The power of invisibility is the best! think of the possibilities, flying is also quite cool though. I love spidey he is my favourite superhero by far and I’m so looking forward to this release
I would love to have a super power that would allow me to create wealth to be used for good. To be able to save all the neglected animals and children in the world and give them a better life and to reduce poverty. I would DEFINITELY be in a super hero outfit at the premier if I won! π
I’m being a bit shallow here, but having that web stuff shoot out of my hand so I can fly around buildings like Spiderman does would rock. I’d get to work so much quicker. And I wouldn’t have to pay for Petrol π
I would want want the power to travel through time π
I would love to be able to fly…
I love traveling so it would be an added bonus to be able to fly myself, along with other perks like no traffic or fuel cost π
Love to have the power of travelling into years of time…. that power is so awesome!
Aah man, would love to see this movie π
i would love the power to heal and turn frowns and tears to happy smiles π
Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: “With great power comes great responsibility.” This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I’m Spiderman.
I want to watch this movie in name of Stan Lee and Steve and Steve Ditko π
We all have secrets; the ones we keep, and the ones that are kept from us.
I would love to have the super power of being able to read minds & change evil / bad thoughts and plans into good one’s! Imagine how much easier it would be to live in a world where there is peace and everyone doing good / trying to be better people and help those around you in need. A world of harmony would not be too far away!
I would love to see this movie with my boyfriend π
I would like to have the power of mind control so that I could make Durbanite give me these tickets.
i would love to have the power of being able to get to one place to another in a second like getting from my house to gateway i mean a girls got to look good for an event like this so its worth it
I would love to have all of Spiderman’s abilities, especially his strength and spidey sense. Being able to sense danger and react with super fast reflexes would be so awesome! π
I would love to be able to fly so i would be able to travel anywhere at anytime!
Freeze time, so I could sleep for longer!
I would like the POWER to read lies! My ears will tingle when I hear a terrible lie being told and I shall rush to the rescue! Never again shall a spouse lie about his/her whereabouts… never again shall a child lie about taking a cookie from the cookie jar and… never again will criminals walk free! THE LIES WILL BE TOLD! The world will become a better place! Peace and Harmony will flourish. *This does not apply to white lies as those are important when women ask if their bums look fat in their jeans*
I’d love to be able to fly between buildings and come to people’s rescue!
I would to love to have the speed of light! I can do everything super fast, never late for anything. I will be able to finish the day’s work and still have time to myself. Bonus!
I would love to have Spidey’s webs, can you imagine getting to work, no hassles, no traffic… just swinging along. And his spider sense… would be awesome to have a warning before something bad happens. But in the same spirit, although it is not really a super power, I would love the Iron Man suit, for exactly the same reasons! π
Def have the super power of Healing & supper speed!
I would like to have the power to fly so that I’m never stuck in traffic, ha ha!
Εeally looking forward to watching the new spider man movie.
Teleportation would be so cool so I could visit my family overseas and teleport into sweet shops anywhere in the world.
It may sound cheesy but I think Stan Lee is the coolest superhero and he definately has the coolest power and its one Id love to have. The power of imagination. The ability to bring (to quote Reggies) joy to a child (or a few crazy adults like us). Stan Lee’s imagination has changed the world for all from many years ago and will continue to do so for many years to come.
I am yet to meet a child who hasn’t painted themselves green with some sort of paint to pretend they’re the Hulk, or put on some sort of mask to pretend they’re Spiderman, or perhaps the most common, wrapped a towel around their neck in order to pretend they’re Superman. I know I’ve done that many times!
Whats fascinating about his power is that we all have it and yet only a few of us have truly been able to tap into the beauty it holds.
The power to do and know EVERYTHING.. The world would be sorted in a flash:P
If i could have any power, it would be the ability to fly… travelling would be so much easier and quicker! I’d give a big finger up to Etolls and crazy petrol costs!
I would love to have invisibility π Would be awesome to spy on people, hear things that people say behind your back and also to sneak past people you dont want to see π
The ability to embed software into my brain (somehow), that will make be do every day activities at optimum levels. Like being able to defend myself, being awesomely perceptive, engaging with danger etc. Something like Chuck meets Sherlock Holmes kind of superhero!
I wish i had the ability to have four arms so that i can type more code when developing software
Please note that our previous competition asked for your desired super power. In our new competition, we’d like to know what super hero costume/gear you plan on wearing to the premiere.
I wish could teleport. Could possibly save a fortune on airfare. Downside: No more voyager miles π
Hellooooo π Hope I’m not too late to enter here! Well the Muslim cloak/abaya could effectively work as Wind Woman or something like that and my hijab (headscarf) will act as the super crown which provides one with immense IQ and eyes at the back of one’s head π this is my best shot..I don’t usually do superhero costumes as I’m already a heroine π
woohoo spiderman! <3
I cant wait to see the new guy Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. he says the thing he loves, about being spiderman is everything. I hope I will love everything too in the whole movie.
