Who manages to pull in a crowd that craves fun in the sun in winter? Durban does of course…uShaka managed to create the ultimate pool party experience for the holiday makers this past Durban July weekend; with the smooth jazzy sounds of Beatenberg, and melodic jives from Kuli Chana, DJ Tira, not excluding KB, Amol/ Adil and a host of other musical performances.
The event was a welcomed start to one of Durban’s most busiest and most popular weekends of the year and uShaka got both visitors and Durbanites’ swaying to the beats (pool side style). The crafty tunes coupled with the hospitable Durban culture (both from uShaka colleagues and the Department of Tourism) was a recipe of success in itself; regardless of the windy weather, the party sizzled with sparks of entertainment from all corners of the park. The hosts for the party enjoyed the screams and pleas of attention from the crowd (both young and old) most especially when there was amazing prizes up for grabs. Jumping into the pool for Pavilion Shopping Centre vouchers and special Platinum passes to uShaka was welcomed by the crowds of enthused party people. One of the main prizes, which was presented later in the evening were VIP July weekend tickets. Congrats to the lucky winners who could not be named at this time (you know who you are you lucky pool partiers!).
Metro FM certainly added a sense of cool with their stylish gear and fitted in perfectly with the scenic environment that uShaka breathes so effortlessly. Miss uShaka and Miss Teen uShaka were present smiling and interacting with the party people. Warm and hearty regards were spread by the CEO of uShaka, Stella Khumalo, maybe next time we could ask for the welcome speech to be delivered in the pool (let’s keep it Durban-cool)…
Whilst enjoying a juicy fruit cocktail I have to say that uShaka was one of the perfect settings for a pool party of this temperament, there is no better way to enjoy Proudly South African music than to do it live whilst experiencing a rush on The Drop Zone!
