Carols by Candlelight: Enjoy a fairy-tale Christmas at the Durban Botanic Gardens

Are you dreaming of a “Star Lit” Christmas? The Old Mutual Music at the Lake outdoor entertainment series promises to immerse you in a starlight wonderland this Christmas.

As soon as the sun goes down on Saturday, 3 December 2016, the lawns of the Durban Botanic Gardens will be transformed into an open air cinema for the screening of Disney’s “Santa Clause 2”.

Completing the magical family experience will be a massive illuminated baobab Christmas tree as well as a twilight market with all the delectable treats associated with this special time of the year.

Carols by Candlelight has been part of Old Mutual’s festive tradition for many years and we are excited to present a new magical cinema experience this year. We look forward to once again bringing friends and families together and providing them with a great experience in exquisite natural surroundings,” says Old Mutual sponsorship manager Bandile Mngoma. “There’s no doubt that creating special memories is a great investment for families to make!”

Our Christmas Market will add to the magic and wonder of the festive atmosphere at the gardens, with over 40 stalls selling a variety of gifts, decorations as well as edible treats like as freshly made popcorn, mouth-watering mince pies and a range of hot and cold drinks.

Kids will be well entertained with a dedicated kiddies area and the opportunity to whisper their wish list in Santa’s ear.

Early bird price: R90. On-the-day price: R100.
R40 for kids aged 8 – 12 years. Under 8 free.
