Are you beautiful? Or have you got that special something called the X-Factor? Calling all potential ladies, girls, gentlemen and boys to enter the Mr/Miss Umhlanga 2016’ This event falls part of the Umhlanga Summer Festival supported by Just Juice.
Entry is FREE and the fun beachy pageant forms a great platform for aspiring models to get future exposure in the modeling & photography industry. The event has been running for seven years and it is the perfect opportunity to get discovered as many past winners have gone on to become National and International stars. Age groups run in both ladies and mens divisions from Masters to babies. Holiday makers and amateurs are all welcome. The Open Ladies and Men’s division will win a weekend away valued at R5000 to the Lord of the Manors Boutique Hotel for two. Winners and runners up will also receive prizes, tiaras and sashes plus other interesting packages.
There is a superb selection of judges this year that will be headed up by 2015 World Line Dance Champion Kevin Ellis. Kevin is also a fashion stylist, choreographer of the X Factor SA, and responsible for scouting the World Famous Victoria Secret model Candice Swanepoel,
Said Kevin: ‘Last year we had a record entry, so whether you are entering or spectating – join us down at the beach for a fun filled day of nonstop action. Bring the family for a day of fun with good music and vibes and watch this year’s gorgeous entrants get crowned’.
The competition will be held on Umhlanga Main Beach Millennium Stage on the Day of Reconciliation public holiday Friday 16th. Registration will be at 11am and the show will begin at 12pm. All entries must be in by 5pm the day before as there will be no entries on the beach.
The Umhlanga Summer Festival begins on Saturday 10 December with the Lizzard Hurricane Summer Surf competition and runs on the beach until 23 December. Kevin Ellis will be on the beach daily from 10am to 2pm entertaining the crowds with fun and games and lots of great prizes for everyone.
