Head Chef of The Big Easy Durban Bar & Grill – Janine Fourie – has once again devised a five-course menu for the upcoming Wine-Pairing Dinner on Thursday 28 July. Each course will complement the featured wines from the L’Ormarins estate in Franschhoek in the Western Cape.

The prestigious Anthonij Rupert Wyne has its beginnings on L’Ormarins, which is one of five estates within the collection.

The grapes which produce the wide range of wines are very terroir-specific and endure extremes in weather conditions, altitude and topography. The vineyards on the property are situated mostly on the northern and eastern slopes of the Groot Drakenstein mountain range. Consideration always needs to be taken of the intense heat from the afternoon sun, the high winter rainfall and the south-east wind when planting.

The first Methode Cap Classique has proven to be a winner both locally and abroad but other grapes that have been planted on the estate include the Syrah, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Broaden your wine knowledge and explore the various wines from this exciting estate – paired with Big Easy Head Chef Janine’s delicious menu.

This event will take place on Thursday 28 July, 2016 at a cost R295 per person. Booking essential. To make a reservation, telephone 031 336 8166 or email bookings@bigeasydurban.co.za
